Dr. J Bio (detail)

Hello,

<

Thank you for your additional interest as to who is behind and leading Business Culture Solutions, LLC!

<

NRJ Prof photo 06-2013I have been bringing practical, integral, performance oriented, systems solutions to management and employees of private, for-profit, and not-for-profit companies for more than twenty-five years now.

<

From very early on I have and continue to specialize in:

<

(1) “peace of mind for peak performance”

<

(2) “conflict as opportunity” for mutual learning, growth

<

(3) “bridges to culture advantages” for organizational agility and sustainability.

<

At age 17 I experienced two sets of transformational experiences, each of which has contributed to my life-long interest in and experience of mindful focus with peace of mind for sustained and agile peak performance and to yet additional integrative-transformational experiences through time.

<

As time progressed, I kept re-experiencing the critical value — if/when in particularly challenging conversations — of people’s taking time to distinguishing among their (1) feelings and (2) logic as two distinctly different kinds of information, the first always subjective, the second as attempts to be objective.

<

☞  I learned that my or others’ feelings and logic did not always agree.

<

☛  I further learned that we ignored either one at our potential mutual disadvantage.

<

By honoring both, each in their own right as distinct and available to us for different purposes, people learned to make more effective personal decisions with others.

<

I experienced how this enhanced my own and others’ sense of personal choice, moment by moment, to achieve greater depth of understanding, clarity, and assertiveness with others,

<

and to do so with enhanced continuity, agility, appropriate humility,

<

and ultimate effectiveness.

<

☛  I’ve become part of “something bigger” than me, that is grounded upon maintaining self-and-other respect.

<

Emotionally intelligent mindfulness with compassion, undergirded by readily understandable principles of self care, plus personally disciplined social engagement that consistently reflects respect for self and others, in unison, will maximally support long-term, adaptive, and sustainable performance.

<

These more mindful approaches appear to be of emerging value to many… including many more recently born than I… and perhaps will be of even greater value to those yet unborn?

<

I soon came to experience all of the above, with delight (even when difficult), as among my most personally cherished  responsibilities — on behalf of myself, others, and our great grandchildren.

<

This is not because somebody told me I must, but because it makes more sustainable sense and I can choose to participate or not.

<

I have been inspired and guided by the many examples of others.

<

I have come to believe this is “simply” natural if I care about others, in addition to me.  Which I do.

<

Finally, I came to understand that “culture” touches everything we do.

<

My interests in company culture and performance go back to my graduate school days.

<

I specialize in working with educational and business leaders who recognize that the workplace culture in their enterprise represents a cardinal business asset — to protect, nurture, and develop — for both immediate and long-term practical business interests.

<

Following 11 years in private practice as an individual, community, and organizational psychologist, I served for eight years as Public Health Psychologist for the City of Akron, Ohio (USA), to more effectively serve adolescents and adults in our community.

<

Supervised confidential consultations by 15-member counseling staff to individuals & groups, plus engaged in planning, trainings, evaluations & administration.  Significant turn-around in annual public health audits, from a variable 70-90% to consistently near 100%.

<

Achieved stability, improved access, plus improved city performance amidst significant downsizing up to Mass City Layoff in preparation for merging of Akron Health Department with Summit County Health District.

<

Integrated International Association of Chiefs of Police Standards for Psychological Services with American Psychological Association Ethics & Standards for optimum EAP and CISD services to City Police and Fire Forces.

<

Following my public health service, I re-entered the private sector to focus full-time on organizational performance culture development.

<

This has and continues to enable me to integrate my professional background and interests with my own and others’ empirical research and experiences concerning qualities of exemplary individual and organizational human performance.
